Every election produces reports, vote counts, summarized expenditures, and documented campaign activities, but those records rarely capture the deeper work of movement building: the relationships formed, the trust earned, the expectations raised, and the political understanding and action that grows within communities over time.
The COLOR Action Fund Field Guide to People Power is the first volume in a series documenting what we are learning about building enduring political power with and alongside Latine communities in Colorado. As Colorado’s only Latina-led reproductive justice political organization, elections are one moment within a much longer process of building leadership, strengthening relationships, advancing political education and representation, and creating lasting accountability between communities and those who seek to represent them.
